Nurse Practitioner Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, focusing on both primary care and specialized services. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing care to individuals with diverse health needs.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and obtain medical histories from patients.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including vital signs and laboratory results.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, including those with developmental disabilities.
Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems such as Cerner.
Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding health conditions and preventive care.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Perform procedures such as phlebotomy and sonography as needed.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, particularly for inpatient care settings.

Experience

A valid Nurse Practitioner license is required.
Experience in primary care or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, particularly Cerner, is advantageous.
Proficiency in performing vital signs assessments and managing medical records is essential.
Previous experience in inpatient settings or working with developmental disabilities is a plus.
