Location: Camp Fretterd Military Reservation (CFMR), Reisterstown, MD & Flight Surgeon’s Clinic, Edgewood, MD.
Pay: To Be Determined - Commensurate With Experience
Work Schedule:
- Typically, three days per week at CFMR and one day at Edgewood
- Tuesday through Friday, 0800-1630
- No work on recognized US federal holidays or during government facility closures.
- Telework: Not authorized (except in rare emergencies as directed by the government).
Job Summary: The Maryland Army National Guard (MDARNG) seeks a qualified and licensed Medical Provider (MD, DO, PA, or NP) to support annual medical readiness assessments and examinations. This position is critical to maintaining and improving the medical readiness of MDARNG personnel and ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Medical Readiness Examinations
- Perform annual Periodic Health Assessments (PHA), Deployment Health Assessments (PDHA, PDHRA), aviation physicals, specialty school physicals, and miscellaneous examinations.
- Document and electronically sign PHAs in the Medical Operational Data System (MODS).
- Ensure all assessments are in compliance with DoDI 6025.19 and MDARNG Surgeon’s Office requirements.
- Note: Medical treatment is not authorized in this role.
- Compliance & Quality Control:
- Adhere to all installation, fire, traffic, safety, and security regulations.
- Comply with all military, legal (HIPAA, Privacy Act, OSHA, etc), regulatory policies and procedures concerning all duties and responsibilities of a licensed provider.
- Possess the required technical skills and expertise to perform functions with minimal guidance.
- Participate in and support the contractor’s Quality Control Plan (QCP) and comply with the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP).
- Maintain the highest standards of documentation, confidentiality, and data integrity.
- Security & Training:
- Complete all required background checks and obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) for facility and system access.
- Complete Antiterrorism Level 1 Awareness and iWATCH training within 30 days of hire and all other training as required.
- Carry proper identification at all times and comply with all DoD, Army, and local security requirements.
- Professional Conduct:
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
- Ensure stability and continuity in service delivery.
- Respond flexibly and promptly to evolving government requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensure:
- Current, valid, unrestricted Maryland State License as a Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), Physician Assistant (PA), or Nurse Practitioner (NP). Renew and maintain during the life of the contract.
- Experience:
- Prior experience conducting medical readiness or occupational health assessments preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems (MODS experience preferred).
- Other Requirements:
- Must pass all required background checks for access to military installations.
- Must be eligible for and able to maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must complete required security and awareness training.
- Must be able to work onsite; telework is not permitted except in rare, government-directed circumstances.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Disclosure of past incidents in professional duties/incidents that may impact professional standing.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a military clinic setting.
- Must be able to adapt to possible delays due to installation security procedures.
- Must comply with all installation policies and procedures.
