POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physician Assistant works closely with the supervising physician to coordinate a course of treatment for patients in the ambulatory care setting: perform histories, physical exams, order and collect lab and diagnostic studies and interpret data to formulate a diagnosis or treatment plan. The PA will also serve as a first assist in OB/GYN surgery cases and will perform any other procedures as assigned by the supervising physician. This may include pre-and post-natal OB Care, and pre- and post-operative care, patient education and discharge.

Required Skills

Demonstrated expertise in OB/GYN surgery
Knowledgeable regarding OB/GYN PA scope of practice.
Able to perform duties as first assist in surgery.
Demonstrated expertise in surgical first assist procedures.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal and conflict resolution abilities. Independent performer.

Required Experience

Current California Physician Assistant license
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant School
One to three (1-3) years direct patient care clinical experience.
One to three (1-3) years of surgical first assist experience
Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
Board Certification: Board certified by the National Certification Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
