Overview:

Hours: APP patient coverage requires, regularly scheduled days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call obligations. Hours will evolve as the service needs develop.

Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

The Cardiothoracic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers comprehensive, patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare throughout the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery service line: Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, Cardiothoracic Acute Ward, and Pre/post-operative Clinics. This role prioritizes direct patient care while actively contributing to divisional quality improvement initiatives and the enhancement of clinical outcomes. Additionally, the APP supports orientation efforts and provides education to patients, families, and team members to promote understanding and engagement in care.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required: Enhanced knowledge of pediatric patient care principles, and ability to manage specialty patient care and emergencies by prioritizing patient care acuity and tasks, collaborating with entire care team critically, comprehensively both verbally and in writing.

Preferred: Pediatric clinical experience

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Required:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
PA - Physician Assistant State License or NP - Nurse Practitioner License
DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration - preferred (will reapply once hired)
American Health Association BLS - Basic Life Support & PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NICCU only)

(NP) Required:
Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner Acute-Care OR DUAL (preferred)
Pediatric Nurse-Practitioner Primary-care
Family Nurse-Practitioner (Post-Master’s Pediatric Preferred)
Neonatal Nurse-Practitioner (NICCU Only)

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
